I just couldn't get into the format. I like the idea of the story, though. The delivery made it too difficult to get into the characters. Needs more first person and real time narration. The most important part of a book is the story telling - it even matters more that the writing. Case in point - Twilight. Meyer has been criticized for her writing, but how many copies did she sell?? Because she's such an amazing story teller. It's all about the story telling.Product details

DNA of beings is skewed in different directions in this story. Some individuals turn into corrupt beings while others appear to be indestructible.
Alisha is a teenager on a farm when some of the corrupt ones near her farm. She takes shelter in the woods and spends a year alone with the animals. During this time, she discovers that she is able to read their feelings.
Interesting read so far and highly recommended.
I love the story and its bright, memorable illustrations. The heroine experiences uncertainty, fear, courage and other emotions common to us all. It's a good story about yearning to be with family and needing other people.
